Journalist Alexander Murashev made a very important film about school bullying. Here's what he says about the film:
“We've been shooting this film for a year and a half. And this is the most personal and important thing I've done in my life. In the photo you'll see at the beginning, I'm 12 years old. That summer I entered a respected school in St. Petersburg with a beautiful name and a whole list of entrance exams. I still don't know what's in store for me. Sixth grade: me and 37 kids besides me. Most of them have been studying together since kindergarten. On September 1, I came to school wearing a jacket and carefully haircut, and immediately found myself a stranger among the others. Over the next couple of years, I'll learn firsthand what bullying is—and how it changes survivors. For this film, I not only met people who had been bullied, but I also talked to those who had bullied others. I saw with my own eyes ready-made recipes for dealing with bullying. And I found out the connection between bullying at school and cases when people come to school with guns — from those who came with these weapons. Finally, for the first time in 18 years after graduation, I met my classmates and class teacher. You will see everything that came out of it with your own eyes.”
